Ball review:

I heard great things about the Omen, but didn’t have too many expectations when I tried it for the first time. However, it was changed after just a few games as I soon recognized the characteristics from the Outburst!

With a strong(!) roll and a calm backend, it fits perfectly to EBT-tournaments where ratios on oil profiles are rather low compared to typical house patterns. Another thing which is noticed, was the pin carry that really flies around even though you are a lower rev rate player.

To sum up, this is a great ball for the tournament bowlers who often compete on more difficult patterns!

Ball review:

The Omen is a really good solid, stable ball, much like the OutBurst, just stronger. As happy I have been for the OutBurst, I’m sure I will be just as happy with the Omen. The Omen is a ball for people needing more hook and control down the lane (soft arch). Best used on long and fairly flat profiles, where you need something strong with maximum control.

A symmetrical ball that reminds me a lot of the Resurgence. This balls start pretty early for me and has a nice smooth backend.

Will play good for the longer patterns with its earlier roll.

Ball review:

The Omen is a strong, symmetrical ball from Columbia. With a low RG and medium-high differetial The Omen starts earlier than most balls and creates a smooth backend motion. This makes it perfect for heavier volumes of oil, where you can get the ball to read without being forced left.

The Omen gives me an option on long and slick patterns that will start up early, but on medium patterns I can also use it to control the breakpoint or just have it layoff on the backend. Chris Barnes described this ball as a Resurgence with more flare.

If you are having trouble with your ball sliding and going past the breakpoint the Omen will change that. You will get an early reaction and still have it hit in the pins.

Ball review:

When I saw the specs for the Omen I decided to drill it strong as I needed a ball for longer/heavier patterns. And I got just that. This is one strong ball! Period! During my tests I haven’t encountered enough oil to use the Omen in its box finish. It picks up really early and it looks like it wants to continue on the back end but the amount of friction forces it to quit before the pins. On all the patterns I have bowled on I needed to pick up my speed and back off with my hand to keep it alive at the pins. I will hold off adjusting the surface until I have tried it on the intended patterns. If you’re looking for the most hook available this is definitely the ball for you.
